Cover Illustration
Root was published in March 2021 by Bloomsbury Absolute. The book features over 100 vegetable-led recipes from an award-winning restaurant in Bristol, UK.
I had the pleasure of creating a couple of illustrations for the cover jacket. The cover now features a combination of two illustration styles, the black line artwork by Will Walton-Freeman and my watercolour illustrations.
I used the black line artwork as a starting point and worked with a light box to paint over the line work. We then scanned the illustrations, edited them and joint the two illustrations styles in Adobe Photoshop.
